Brazil appears to be on its way to a goalless draw with Cameroon in the World Cup on Friday at Lusail Stadium. For more than 90 minutes, with several players on the bench, the Brazilian defense prevented Cameroon from scoring. That was until Vincent Aboubakar scored in the 91st minute and scored the only goal of the game from Jerome Nojoom Mbekele's cross.
However, shortly after Aboubakar scored to break the deadlock, the striker took off his shirt in celebration of the moment and showed the crowd that it was an automatic yellow card. Abu Bakr received a yellow card after a violent tackle on Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli, so the referee sent him off for the second time.
Aboubacar was promptly sent off but before he was shown the red card, the referee punched the Cameroonian, apparently saying he had no choice but to show him a second yellow card. Despite Aboubacar's late goal and Cameroon's victory over the five-time World Cup winners, Cameroon were eliminated from the tournament.
The Indomitable Lions occupy third place in Group G, two points behind second-placed Switzerland, after Switzerland beat Serbia 3-2. Selecao finished first despite the loss.
