A special court has granted the CBI temporary custody of Kochhars for three days.
The CBI was granted custody of the former ICICI CEO Chanda Kochhar and her husband for a period of three days on Saturday, exactly four years after the agency initially filed the FIR. According to their attorney, their arrest was unlawful because the agency that conducted it failed to obtain prior approval from a competent authority under the Corruption Act. This is something that is required in the event that a civil servant is arrested.
