Manu Bhaker, shooting for Haryana in the 65th edition of the National Shooting Championship, prevailed in the final against Esha Singh, shooting for Telangana, by a score of 17-13, after finishing first in qualification with 583 points. At the MP Shooting Academy shooting range, she earned a score of 252.4, which allowed her to win the semi-final competition.
The Himachal Pradesh native and Olympic silver medalist Vijay Kumar won the men's 25-meter centre-fire pistol competition to take home the national title with a score of 583. The next two competitors on the podium were Anish Bhanwala of Haryana and Gurpreet Singh of the Indian Army. Both of them had 582 points.
Manu Bhaker, who was also competing in the women's 10 metre pistol event, received a score of 148 in the semi-final, which meant that she did not advance to the medal round.
Divya TS of Karnataka finished first in the women's 10m pistol semi-final with 254.2 points, besting Sanskriti Bana of India who scored 251.6 and Rhythm Sangwan of India who scored 250. Divya TS prevailed over Sanskriti Bana in the final of the senior women's 10m pistol competition to take home the gold medal.
In the 10m pistol youth women's competition, Sanskriti Bana, who was competing on behalf of Uttar Pradesh, also scored high enough to advance to the final round with 249.2 points. Rhythm Sangwan of Haryana, who had previously won the semi-final round with a score of 253.3, triumphed over Sanskriti Bana by a score of 16-12 to win the national title.
In the past, Manu Bhaker had been successful in the senior and junior women's individual 25-meter pistol competitions. Additionally, she had been successful in the women's and junior women's 25-meter pistol team competitions, where she won gold medals.
