Kerala is one of the first states in India to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal of maternal mortality rate.The Kerala government has been working towards achieving this goal for a long time and has finally succeeded in reaching it. The achievement is a result of the various steps taken by the government and people of Kerala such as introducing new schemes, training more doctors, etc.
The Kerala government has been successful in reducing the maternal mortality rate (MMR) to 12 deaths per 100,000 live births. The MMR is now below the national average of 190 deaths per 100,000 live births and is also lower than the global average of 216 deaths per 100,000 live births.
The state has a goal of reducing the number of maternal deaths by 3% every year and it looks like they are on track to achieve this goal.The Kerala government is working towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal of maternal mortality rate by 2023. They have successfully reduced the number of maternal deaths by 3% in just one year, which is a significant achievement.
