Pakistan Cricket Board Sack Ramiz raja,Sethi Takes Over

ramij raja sack sethi takes over

Ramiz Raja has been removed from his position as the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as a direct result of Pakistan's defeat in the home Test series against England. There were rumours that the former captain of Pakistan would be removed from his position as the top official. It is believed that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave his approval to the appointment of Najam Sethi as the new Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday (December 21). It is important to remember that Ramiz was promoted to his current position in September of 2021.

Raja is only the fourth Test cricketer to wear the chairman's hat, following in the footsteps of Ijaz Butt, Javed Burki, and Abdul Hafeez Kardar. He was nominated directly for the post on August 27, 2021 by Imran Khan, who was serving as Pakistan's Prime Minister at the time. Raja was serving in his second stint as the chief of the PCB, having previously held the position from 2003 to 2004. When it comes to Ramiz's second term as mayor, there were many highs and lows during that time. During his presidency, Pakistan reached a glorious high point when they finally prevailed over their bitter rivals India in the Twenty20 World Cup that was held in the United Arab Emirates in 2021. In addition, the senior men's team competed in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 World Cup the previous year, came in second place in the Asia Cup 2022, and most recently competed in the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia. However, the team suffered a significant setback when they lost all of their home Tests and the one Twenty20 International that they played against Australia at the beginning of this year. Subsequently, they were swept by England in their whites for the first time ever on their home turf in the Tests that just concluded. In addition, prior to this year's Twenty20 World Cup, they were defeated by the Three Lions in a T20 International series that consisted of seven matches.

On the other hand, Najam Sethi has prior experience working in the capacity of chief of the PCB. Midway through the year 2018, he tendered his resignation, and Ehsan Mani took over as his successor. Ehsan Mani, in turn, was succeeded by Ramiz Raja, who resigned in August of 2021. As a result, Najam faces a challenging task ahead of him in order to bring back Team Pakistan (at all levels) and promote domestic cricket within the country, as many people have doubts about the current generation of batters. In the wake of Pakistan's disappointing run at home recently, a number of inquiries have been directed toward Babar. It will be interesting to see if there will be any additional changes in the near future.
