A former captain of the Australian women's cricket team, she is most remembered for guiding her team to victory at the World Cup on two separate occasions (1997 and 2005).

A Member of the Order of Australia was also bestowed upon her in the year 2000, and she was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame the following year, in 2006. Recently, she made history by becoming the first woman in the history of cricket to be honoured with a statue, which was recently erected at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Belinda Clark is a sports administrator and a cricket player who once competed for Australia. She batted right-handed and was a member of the national women's team that won the World Cup in 1997 and 2005. She led the team as captain for eleven years and was the national team's right-handed batter. She has scored the most runs (4,844 at an average of 47.49) and captained the most matches (101 at a winning rate of 83%) of any Australian woman in One Day Internationals (ODIs).

She was the first player to record a double century in the One Day International (ODI) format of the game. She was only the second woman to be admitted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame, but she was the first woman to be inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame.
