Captain Shiva Chauhan, who is a member of the Corps of Engineers, recently broke the glass ceiling by being assigned to the Kumar Post, which is located on the Siachen Glacier at an altitude of 15,632 feet. This is the highest battlefield in the world.

An Army officer who is a female has made history by being the first person to ever be operationally posted to an actual post at Siachen Glacier. As part of their regular deployments with the army, female officers have in the past been stationed at the Siachen base camp, which is located at an elevation of around 9,000 feet.

The Fire and Fury Corps, which has its headquarters in Leh, posted a picture of a young officer working at Kumar Post along with the phrase "breaking the glass ceiling."
Captain Chouhan, originally from Rajasthan, is an officer in the Bengal Sappers. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the NJR Institute of Technology in Udaipur, where she also completed her schooling. Her hometown is Udaipur.

Army sources claim that she was orphaned when she was just 11 years old, and that her mother, who is a homemaker, was responsible for seeing to it that she completed her education.

According to the sources, she was inspired to join the Indian Armed Forces ever since she was a young child. She displayed an extraordinary amount of zeal while she was undergoing training at OTA in Chennai, and as a result, she was commissioned into the Engineer Regiment in May of 2021.
