"The Abandoned House"
It was a dark and stormy night when the four friends set out,
Jake, Sarah, Mark, and Emily, without a doubt,
To explore the abandoned house on the edge of town,
Despite the rumors of hauntings that had been going around.
As they approached the house, a chill ran down their spines, The wooden boards creaked under their feet, like ancient shrines, Emily pushed open the door, and they all stepped inside, To a musty, stale air, and flickering candles they had brought to provide.
The walls were peeling, the floorboards creaked with each step, Strange noises echoed through the empty rooms, causing them to prep, Whispers and footsteps, each time they turned to investigate, But each time, they found nothing, only to be met with silence and a feeling of hate.
As they entered the kitchen, a staircase led to a basement room, But what they found there would soon lead to their doom, The room was filled with antique dolls, staring with lifeless eyes, And soon, they realized, it was not just rumors of hauntings that were lies.
The dolls began to move, their heads turned and limbs twitched, Whispers grew louder and more menacing, as the friends' minds became bewitched, They tried to run, but the door was locked, and they were trapped, Their curiosity had led them to a fate that they should have mapped.
The dolls closed in, and the friends' screams echoed in the basement, Their fear and terror amplified with each movement and displacement, Cackling laughter filled the room as the dolls' grins grew wider and more malevolent, The four friends blacked out, as the dolls continued to laugh and dance, ever-present.
The police found the four friends, huddled and trembling in fear, But their tale of haunted dolls was met with disbelief, as it wasn't clear, Whether it was real or just a nightmare, that only they could see, But the dolls' whispers continued to haunt them, as they struggled to be free.
