The state of Telangana, situated in South India, has announced that starting from the next day, all schools will be operating for half-day until the end of the academic year on April 24. This decision has been made due to the prevailing high temperatures in the region, which can make it difficult for students to focus and study in school for extended periods.
The government has issued a directive to all schools in the state, including government, government-aided, and private schools, to comply with this mandate. All classes will be ending at 12:30 pm, which means that students will have to attend school only for a few hours every day.
Apart from the reduced hours, the government has also announced that mid-day meals will be provided at 12:30 pm. This decision has been taken to ensure that students receive proper nutrition even though they are attending school for fewer hours. Mid-day meals are an essential part of the government's initiatives to provide nutrition to children from economically weaker sections of society.
This mandate will be in effect until the academic year ends on April 24, after which schools will operate as per their regular schedules. The government has urged parents to ensure that their children attend school on time and take full advantage of the reduced hours to study and prepare for their examinations. The school authorities have also been advised to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that the students receive the required education within the reduced time frame.
