Expelled TMC Workers Attack Trinamool Activist in Purba Bardhaman

TMC Inner Clash in Purba Bardhaman Ahead of Panchayat Election

In a shocking incident, expelled Trinamool workers allegedly abducted a Trinamool worker by tying a towel around his neck from a panchayat election rally in Purba Bardhaman district. The affected grassroots worker is from Aushgram.

The incident took place on Monday evening, when Azam Mollah, a Trinamool activist, was picked up from Debshala Panchayat in Budbud. He was then taken several kilometers away and severely beaten up. The Trinamool worker was rescued by the police of Budbud police station. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Rajbandh, Kanksara.

The injured Trinamool worker has alleged that the attack was carried out by the expelled Trinamool leaders who were involved in the murder of Chanchal Bakshi, son of Debshala Panchayat chief Shyamal Bakshi, in September 2021. He said that the miscreants had threatened him earlier as well, but he had ignored them. However, they attacked him on Monday after he attended a panchayat election rally.

The police of Budbud police station have registered a case and are investigating the matter. They have also arrested two of the accused.

This incident is a clear sign of the infighting within the TMC ahead of the panchayat elections. It is also a worrying trend, as it shows that the party is not able to keep its own house in order. This infighting could have a negative impact on the TMC's chances of winning the panchayat elections. If they fail to do so, it could cost them dearly in the elections.

The people of Purba Bardhaman are watching closely. If the TMC fails to do so, it will lose the trust of the people and they will vote for left  parties in the panchayat elections.
