A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the Alaska Peninsula region early on Sunday, July 16, 2023, triggering a tsunami warning. The earthquake, with a depth of 9.3 km, was reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The US Tsunami Warning System issued the warning after the earthquake.
