Calcutta, September 29, 2023: Kolkata High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay on Friday praised the Kolkata Traffic Police for their efficient management of traffic during a protest march by adivasis. The protest march caused heavy traffic congestion on several roads in Kolkata, and Justice Gangopadhyay's car was also stuck in the traffic.
However, Justice Gangopadhyay was impressed by the way the Kolkata Traffic Police managed the traffic and ensured that his car was able to reach the court on time. He said in court, "The Kolkata Traffic Police has done a great job. My car was able to pass through the traffic efficiently. Otherwise, I would not have been able to reach the court on time."
Justice Gangopadhyay's praise for the Kolkata Traffic Police is significant, given that the police have often been criticized for their handling of protests and demonstrations in Kolkata.
