Comrade Anathalavattam Anandan's mortal remains to be brought to his residence in Chirayinkeez today
Thiruvananthapuram, October 5, 2023: The mortal remains of senior CPI(M) leader and CITU state president Anathalavattam Anandan will be brought to his residence in Chirayinkeez today.
Anathalavattam Anandan passed away at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital yesterday morning. He was 86 years old.
Anathalavattam Anandan's mortal remains will arrive at the CITU state committee office on Dr. MG Road in Thiruvananthapuram at 10 am today. From there, it will be taken to his residence in Chirayinkeez at 11 am.
There will be public viewing at the AKG Centre from 11 am tomorrow and at the CITU state committee office from 2 pm. The funeral will be held at the Shanthikavadam in Thiruvananthapuram at 5 pm.
Anathalavattam Anandan was born in 1937 in Chirayinkeez. He was elected to the CPI(M) Thiruvananthapuram district committee in 1971 and to the CPI(M) state committee in 1980. He was elected to the CITU state committee in 1982 and became the state president in 1996.
Anathalavattam Anandan was a strong leader of the trade union movement. He led many struggles for the rights of workers.
CPI(M), CITU, trade unions and others have expressed condolences on the demise of Anathalavattam Anandan.
