The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the poll schedule for five states - Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Mizoram, and Rajasthan. The elections in these states will be held in one or two phases, with the results to be declared on December 3, 2023.
Here is the detailed polling schedule for the five states:
- Chhattisgarh: November 7 and November 17 (2 phases)
- Telangana: November 30
- Mizoram: November 7
- Rajasthan: November 23
- Madhya Pradesh: November 17
The ECI has also announced a number of measures to ensure fair and peaceful elections, including increased security deployment and the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in all polling stations.
