Indian Army Major Opens Fire on Colleagues in Jammu and Kashmir, Six Injured

Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir: An Indian Army Major allegedly opened fire and threw grenades at his colleagues at a military camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Thursday, injuring six personnel.

The incident took place at a camp of the 48 Rashtriya Rifles in the Thanamandi area. The Major, who has not been identified, has been taken into custody.

The injured personnel have been shifted to a hospital for treatment. Two of them are reportedly in critical condition.

The reason for the Major's actions is still unknown. However, police and military officials are investigating the incident.

This is the second incident of fratricide in the Indian Army in recent months. In July, an Army soldier opened fire on his colleagues at a camp in Assam, killing one and injuring two others.
