Meteorologists have warned of the possibility of a cyclonic storm forming in the Arabian Sea. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that a cyclonic circulation is already present over the southeast Arabian Sea and the adjoining Lakshadweep region. Under the influence of this circulation, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the same region in the next 24-48 hours.
The IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea over the southeast Arabian Sea and the Lakshadweep region. It has also asked coastal states to be prepared for heavy rainfall and strong winds.
The IMD is closely monitoring the situation and will issue further updates as needed.
