Buxar, Bihar: At least six coaches of the North East Superfast train derailed near Buxar in Bihar late on Wednesday night, October 11, 2023. The train was on its way from Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi to Kamakhya Junction in Assam's Guwahati.
The incident took place at around 9:35 pm near Raghunathpur railway station, about 150 km from Patna. According to railway officials, the derailment occurred due to a fault in the track.
All passengers on board the train are safe and have been evacuated. Rescue teams are working to clear the tracks and restore train traffic.
A senior railway official said that a high-level inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the derailment.
