New Delhi, October 5, 2023: Thousands of women from across India marched to Delhi on Wednesday in resistance to the Modi government's anti-women policies. The march was organized by the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA), a mass organization of women fighting for their rights and equality.
The women raised questions against rising prices and unemployment, increasing violence against women, and other issues. They pledged that the resistance will only become stronger if their concerns are not addressed.
The marchers' collective slogan was "BJP-RSS Hatao, Mahila Bachao, Desh Bachao!" (Remove BJP-RSS, Save Women, Save the Country!).
The march began at Jantar Mantar and proceeded to Parliament Street. The women carried placards and chanted slogans against the government. They also distributed pamphlets highlighting the government's failures on women's issues.
In a statement, AIDWA said, "The Modi government has failed women on all fronts. Prices are rising, unemployment is soaring, and violence against women is increasing. The government is also trying to undermine women's rights in the name of culture and religion."
"This march is a warning to the government that women will not tolerate its anti-women policies any longer," the statement added.
The march was attended by women from all walks of life, including students, workers, farmers, and homemakers. It was a powerful show of solidarity and resistance by the women's movement in India.
