On the occasion of the 107th November Revolution, the Hindustan Steel Employees Union (CITU) organized a blood donation camp on November 7, 2023. The camp was inaugurated by veteran workers leader and former mayor Rathin Roy. Veteran CITU leader Binoy Krishna Chakraborty was also present at the camp.
A total of 80 donors participated in the camp, and 102 units of blood were collected. The blood was donated to the DSP Main Hospital (22 units), Durgapur Sub-Division Hospital (58 units), and Durgapur Steel Plant Hospital (22 units).
Roy and Chakraborty praised the Hindustan Steel Employees Union for organizing the blood donation camp. They said that blood donation is a noble act that saves lives. They also appealed to the people to come forward and donate blood regularly.
The blood donation camp was a success, and it helped to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. The blood collected will be used to help patients in need.
