Joynagar Witnesses Chaos as TMC's Saifuddin Laskar Orchestrates Murders in Blind Retaliation Against CPI(M) Workers and Supporters
Joynagar, West Bengal: In a shocking display of brutality, Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons unleashed a reign of terror on CPI(M) supporters in Joynagar, West Bengal, on Monday. Multiple homes were set ablaze, and innocent people were targeted in a blind act of retaliation by TMC's Saifuddin Laskar against CPI(M) workers and supporters.
The violence erupted after a TMC worker was allegedly killed by CPI(M) activists. In response, Laskar, a TMC leader with a criminal background, mobilized his goons and launched a series of attacks on CPI(M) supporters.
Eyewitnesses say that Laskar's goons went on a rampage, torching houses and attacking people at will. They also allege that the police stood by and watched as the violence unfolded.
"It was like a scene from hell," said one eyewitness. "Laskar's men were armed with machetes and iron rods. They were beating up people indiscriminately. They even set fire to several houses."
Another eyewitness said that the police refused to intervene even when they were called for help. "We called the police several times, but they never came," he said. "They were clearly hand in glove with Laskar and his men."
The violence has left Joynagar reeling in shock. Many people are now living in fear of further attacks. The CPI(M) has demanded that the state government take immediate action to arrest Laskar and his goons.
"This is a barbaric act of violence," said a CPI(M) leader. "Laskar is a notorious criminal who has been protected by the TMC government for too long. We demand that he and his men be arrested immediately and brought to justice."
The TMC has denied any involvement in the violence. However, many people believe that the party is responsible for the attack.
"The TMC has a history of violence against its political opponents," said a political analyst. "Laskar is a close associate of the TMC leadership. It is highly unlikely that he would have acted without their support."
The violence in Joynagar is a reminder of the deep-rooted political polarization in West Bengal. It is also a reminder of the impunity with which TMC goons operate in the state.
