Bardhaman: The family of a Madhyamik examinee has blamed the state government for the death of their relative in a road accident while traveling to the exam center.
The deceased, identified as Arijit Ghosh, was the uncle of Smriti Ghosh, a student of Mahato High School and a Madhyamik examinee this year. Arijit Ghosh was accompanying Smriti Ghosh and her sister Rikta Ghosh to the exam center on their motorbike when they met with an accident.
Arijit Ghosh died on the spot, while Rikta Ghosh was critically injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The family of the deceased has alleged that the state government is responsible for the accident as they had not planned the exam schedule properly. They said that the exam was being held during the peak hours of traffic, which led to congestion on the roads and ultimately resulted in the accident.
The SFI District Committee, Purba Bardhaman has also condemned the state government's decision to hold the exams during peak hours and demanded compensation for the family of the deceased.
