Former J&K CM Accuses Abdullahs of Secret Meetings with Modi Govt, Playing "Double Game"

Gulam Nabi Azad, a former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has ignited controversy with explosive accusations against the Abdullah family, alleging they hold secret meetings with the Indian government and play a "double game."

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Azad claimed the Abdullahs, leaders of the National Conference party, met with Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah at night, raising suspicions amongst the public. He further criticized their alleged inconsistent messaging, stating they speak differently in Srinagar, Jammu, and Delhi.

These accusations stem from recent statements by National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, who expressed openness to a future alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the ruling party at the center. However, his son Omar Abdullah contradicted this, asserting the party's commitment to the "India block."

Adding fuel to the fire, Dender Singh Rana, a former advisor to Omar Abdullah, came forward with claims that in 2014, he and Omar Abdullah attempted to negotiate a government formation deal with the BJP in Delhi, but were unsuccessful.

These developments have placed the Abdullahs in a precarious position, facing accusations of secrecy and political opportunism. As of now, they have not responded to Azad's allegations.

This news has significant implications for the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, raising questions about the National Conference's true stance and its relationship with the BJP. Whether these accusations hold weight and how the Abdullahs respond will undoubtedly be a subject of close scrutiny in the coming days.
