In a significant victory against drug trafficking, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch Unit-7 of Ghatkopar apprehended a gang of 10 peddlers. The arrested individuals were found to be in possession of a large quantity of the illegal drug Mephedrone (MD).
The police seized a staggering 126.141 kilograms of MD, along with cash, gold ornaments, and a Skoda car. The total value of the confiscated items is estimated to be a staggering Rs 252,55,38,420 (Two Hundred Fifty-Two Crore, Fifty-Five Lakh, Thirty-Eight Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty Rupees).
This major seizure disrupts the operations of a major drug trafficking ring and deals a severe blow to the illegal drug trade in Mumbai. The arrested peddlers will be facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
