In a bid to address the pressing issues of unemployment and social inequality, the Congress party has unveiled its manifesto, promising significant measures for job creation and upliftment of marginalized communities.

Key highlights from the manifesto include:

1. Job Creation:Congress pledges to provide 30 lakh jobs, emphasizing employment guarantee as a cornerstone of their agenda.

2. Socio-Economic Census: A nationwide socio-economic and caste census will be conducted to accurately assess the socio-economic conditions of various castes and sub-castes. This data will inform targeted policies for upliftment.

3. Reservation Policy:The manifesto proposes a 50 percent increase in the reservation limit for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). Additionally, 10 percent reservation in jobs and educational institutions will be implemented for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) without discrimination.

4. Backlog Vacancies: Congress commits to filling all backlog vacancies of posts reserved for SC, ST, and OBC within one year.

5. End of Contract System: The party vows to abolish the contract system of regular jobs in government and public sector enterprises, ensuring stability for workers.

6. Financial Inclusion:Enhanced institutional credit will be provided to SCs and STs for house-building, starting businesses, and purchasing property, promoting financial empowerment.

7. Land Distribution:An authority will be established to monitor the distribution of government land and surplus land to the poor under the Land Ceiling Act, ensuring equitable access to resources.

8. Public Procurement Policy: Congress plans to expand the scope of the public procurement policy to award more public work contracts to contractors from SC and ST communities, fostering economic opportunities.

9. Education Empowerment: Scholarships for OBC, SC, and ST students will be doubled, particularly for higher education. Additionally, the number of scholarships to support SC and ST students studying abroad and pursuing PhD programs will be doubled.

10. Residential Schools:The manifesto promises to create a network of residential schools for poor, SC, and ST students, extending their reach to every block, thus ensuring access to quality education.

The unveiling of the manifesto underscores Congress's commitment to addressing key socio-economic challenges and fostering inclusive growth. With a focus on employment, education, and social welfare, the party aims to bring about meaningful change for all sections of society. #Congress #Manifesto #RahulGandhiVoiceOfIndia
