The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued a press statement condemning in strongest terms an Israeli airstrike on tent camp in Rafah, Gaza that killed 45 people most them woman and children. The airstrike came as President Bashar al-Assad's government and its ally Russia intensified their air campaign against the last remaining rebel enclave in northwest Idlib province despite a three-month-old Turkish-Russian brokered truce to halt the fighting there.
The CPI(M) said in a statement that the continued Israeli military actions were violative of an International Court of Justice directive to halt offensive. The party said the number of Gaza dead since day one had climbed to more than 36,000, with an unknown many still under the rubble.
Protest against it has been called by the CPI (M) to all democratic and peace loving individuals of India.
