A massive march took place in Mumbai today, honoring Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti while advocating for peace, non-violence, communal harmony, women's safety, and equality. The event, held on October 2nd to coincide with the International Day of Peace and Non-Violence, was organized by the India Alliance Bloc alongside various civil society organizations.

Starting at Hutatma Chowk and concluding at the Gandhi Statue near Mantralaya, the march saw participation from a wide array of political parties, including the Indian National Congress (INC), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena (SS), Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], Communist Party of India (CPI), Peasants and Workers Party (PWP), Samajwadi Party (SP), and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI).

Hundreds of CPI(M) supporters joined the march, led by prominent leaders such as Com. Dr. Vivek Monteiro, Com. K. Raghu, Com. Sonia Gill, Com. K. Narayanan, Com. Armaity Irani, and Com. Sugandhi Francis, as they chanted revolutionary slogans. The presence of CPI(M) MLA, Com. Sailendra Chandra Nath from Jubarajnagar AC, Tripura, further strengthened the event’s impact.

The march served as a strong message for communal unity and social justice, echoing the values of peace, unity, and equality championed by Gandhi and Shastri.
