Moscow, Russia — Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and leader of the CPRF faction in the State Duma, has extended his greetings to citizens in honor of the anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
In a public address, Zyuganov highlighted the profound impact of the October Revolution of 1917, describing it as a pivotal moment in Russian history that realized the aspirations of the working class and laid the foundation for a new era of social and economic progress. He emphasized the achievements of the Soviet era, including advancements in science, education, and healthcare, as well as the role of Soviet citizens in defeating fascism during World War II.
Zyuganov also drew attention to the lasting influence of the October Revolution’s ideals worldwide, noting that socialist principles continue to inspire nations such as China, Vietnam, Cuba, and Venezuela. He expressed solidarity with those fighting for the rights of working people, particularly in Ukraine, and underscored the Communist Party's commitment to the values of progress and social justice.
"Russia will be great and socialist once again," Zyuganov declared, reaffirming the CPRF’s dedication to the vision of a just and equitable society.
The Great October Socialist Revolution, celebrated annually on November 7, marks the date in 1917 when the Bolshevik Party, led by Vladimir Lenin, seized power in Russia, leading to the formation of the Soviet Union.
