Damascus, December 5, 2024
Over the past few days, our valiant armed forces have engaged in fierce and relentless battles to repel and thwart successive and violent attacks by terrorist organizations targeting the city of Hama. These groups have mobilized large numbers of fighters, employing various forms of military equipment and tactics, including immersion groups, in an effort to destabilize the region.
In the past hours, as confrontations intensified and a number of our brave soldiers fell as martyrs in the line of duty, these terrorist groups managed to infiltrate several axes of the city and temporarily advance into it, despite suffering significant casualties within their ranks.
To ensure the safety and well-being of the civilian population in Hama and to prevent urban warfare within the city, military units stationed in the area have conducted a strategic redeployment and repositioning to areas outside the city.
The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces reaffirms its unwavering commitment to fulfilling its national duty. Efforts to reclaim all areas penetrated by terrorist organizations will continue until full stability and security are restored.
