Diamond Harbour, South 24 Parganas – Outrage has sparked in Diamond Harbour, a stronghold of Abhishek Banerjee, following allegations of repeated sexual assault against a ninth-grade student receiving treatment in the ICU of Diamond Harbour Government Medical College and Hospital. The incident has ignited protests after the minor's mother was allegedly mistreated and forcibly removed from the hospital when she raised her voice against the abuse.
Initially, AIDWA (All India Democratic Women's Association) of South 24 Parganas engaged with the victim's family and submitted deputations to both the hospital superintendent and the SDO (Sub-Divisional Officer). Subsequently, defying an atmosphere of fear, SFI (Students' Federation of India), DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India), and AIDWA jointly organized a protest march and rally in Diamond Harbour, stretching up to the M Bazar area.
The demonstrators are demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged assault and action against those responsible, as well as accountability for the alleged mistreatment of the victim's mother. The image shows protestors marching with banners expressing their outrage.
