Youth Federation Calls for Protests Against Exploitation in West Burdwan
Burdwan, March 11, 2025 – The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), West Burdwan District Committee, has issued a rallying cry to the public, urging them to take to the streets to protest the ongoing exploitation of natural resources and human rights. The organization highlighted the plundering of land, sand, coal, rivers, forests, and the environment, alongside the erosion of women’s dignity, workers’ livelihoods, farmers’ toil, students’ futures, and the dreams of the unemployed.
In a powerful statement, the DYFI emphasized the need for collective action to combat these injustices. “Those who are looting our resources and rights must face resistance from the streets,” the statement read. To address these grievances, the federation has put forth a four-point demand:
- Jobs for all unemployed individuals based on their qualifications.
- Workplaces free from exploitation, inducements, and corruption.
- Fair wages for workers’ labor.
- Provision of necessary training and guaranteed employment in relevant sectors.
The DYFI has called on citizens to spread this message at every booth in the coming days and join a mass movement to press these demands. The campaign will culminate in a large-scale protest on March 28, 2025, under the banner “IISCO Chalo” at Burnpur, where participants will gather to demand justice and accountability.
The West Burdwan DYFI unit concluded its call with a show of solidarity, raising clenched fists as a symbol of resistance. “Let us unite in this fight for our rights and our future,” the statement urged.
