CPI(M) Expresses Solidarity with Socialist Cuba at 24th Party Congress
At the 24th Party Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), being held in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, a resolution was passed extending full solidarity to socialist Cuba.
The resolution condemned the continued economic blockade imposed by American imperialism on Cuba, recognizing Cuba's perseverance in upholding socialism despite immense external pressures. The Party emphasized that this unwavering stance continues to inspire working people around the world.
The Congress lauded Cuba’s commitment to socialism even after the fall of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc. It strongly condemned the U.S. sanctions, especially the tightening of the embargo in recent years, which has made life more difficult for the Cuban people. The CPI(M) reiterated its support for the Cuban people's right to self-determination and called for an immediate end to the U.S. blockade.
