The Voice of the Toiling Masses Echoes Across Brigade Parade Grounds
Kolkata's historic Brigade Parade Grounds has transformed into a sea of determination, resilience, and hope as thousands of toiling people — workers, farmers, agricultural labourers, and slum dwellers — gather to voice their demands and dreams. The rally, a powerful testament to the struggles and aspirations of India's working-class, has been called by the Left mass organisations of West Bengal: the CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions), All India Kisan Sabha, All India Agricultural Workers Union, and Bustee Unnayan Samity.
Under the sunlit sky, the grounds are alive with chants, songs, and the unwavering spirit of unity. Every banner waved and slogan raised is a call for justice, equity, and the right to live with dignity. For many, the journey to this rally has not been easy — braving distances, adversities, and the weight of a system that often overlooks them. Yet, here they stand, resolute and unyielding, embodying the undying spirit of the working class.
The presence of key leaders further strengthens this gathering. CPIM Polit Bureau member and West Bengal State Secretary Comrade Md. Salim addresses the crowd with the fire of conviction, while CITU General Secretary Comrade Tapan Sen’s words resonate with the workers’ daily struggles. AIAWU State President Comrade Tushar Ghosh and other leaders stand shoulder to shoulder with the masses, reaffirming their commitment to the people's cause.
This is more than a rally. It is a movement. It is a declaration that the heart of Bengal beats in the chests of its workers, farmers, and marginalized communities. As the sun sets on this monumental day, the voices at Brigade will continue to echo across the fields, factories, and streets of West Bengal, carrying the message: The fight for justice is far from over.
